Rainy Winter Wedding at The Station
It’s safe to say that Payton and Andrew 100%, really, truly, married their best friends on their rainy winter wedding day. These two met in college because they lived in the same dorm. And in the months that followed that first meeting? They developed a friendship so deep and caring that starting to date was the obvious next step for them.

These two are super competitive, love building legos, love checking out new beer and local breweries, and are two of the most kind-hearted, fun to be around people that we know. Which meant their wedding day? Oh, friends, it was all of that and then some. Even if it did rain cats and dogs.
We feel pretty comfortable saying that Payton and Andrew aren’t a super fussy couple. Which means that on their wedding day, they really wanted to focus on the things that were most important to them: food, music, spending time with their friends and family. And NOT focusing or spending time on the things that didn’t matter to them: cake (Payton HATES cake), floral centerpieces (who likes flowers?) and everything “being perfect.”
Well, friends, mission accomplished.
Because on their rainy winter wedding day at The Station? These best friends did a first look so they could spend their whole day together and not trying to hide from each other. They danced and ninja-fought in the rain with their wedding party. Payton wore her favorite tennis shoes instead of heels and had her cousin help her with makeup.
They seated their immediate family in a little semi-circle surrounding them during their ceremony, while their other guests sat Oscars style. These two spent alllll day with their VIPs: siblings, parents, and friends from childhood and college. They held hands and laughed together all dang day long.
At their reception, they served their favorite milk stout beers so their friends and family could experience some of the things they love. Payton and her siblings “performed” a choreographed routing to a classic MJ song from their childhood, and Andrew smoked cigars with his best man.
And at the end of the day?
Instead of just going home or back to the hotel, they invited all of their VIPs to ITAP to partake in more of their favorite things, at one of their favorite places. Complete with their favorite pizza catered in, and a walk down the rainy street.
What did they not worry about on their rainy winter wedding day? Payton’s dress getting wet, or her bridesmaids’ hair being absolutely perfect. The fact that they didn’t even want to cut their cake, so they only did it long enough for us to grab 1 photo. Flowers. At all. Payton’s bouquet was two dozen roses from Costco that she cut the stems off of that morning. They also didn’t worry about the rain, that decided to hang around all dang day.
But honestly? When it was all said and done? These two had the best day ever. Especially because they decided not to focus on the things that weren’t important to them.
