Intimate Omaha Wedding Sneak Peek

We don’t know about you, but family is everything around here. Family is what builds you up and makes you into the adults you turn out to be (for better or worse). It’s not necessarily just your blood relatives, but anybody in your oh-so-tight knit community that lifts you up and supports you. That celebrates and cries with you. It’s the people you would drop anything for if it came to it.

We’re also lucky enough to be able to call our clients family. And Valerie and Craig? Well, these two are considered super-close family. You see, we’ve known the two of them for years now. They’ve welcomed us into their lives and families’ lives time and time again. In 2014 when we got to photograph Layne and Aric’s wedding (her oldest son). Again in 2016 when we got to photograph April and Dana’s wedding (her youngest son). Last summer when we got to photograph Maren and Kelham’s wedding (her daughter).

We can’t even tell you how excited we were when we received the phone call that Craig had finally popped the question and the two of them were getting married. And they wanted us to photograph their wedding. You know those squeals of pure joy that happen from time to time? Imagine a whole lot of that paired with literal jumping up and down as we read her email.

But here’s the thing. It’s one thing to ask us to photograph three of your kids’ weddings. But to ask us back to photograph your own wedding? You guys, there’s just no bigger honor in the world to us. Especially because it meant we were going to get to see the rest of their families that have become our own family.

So off to Omaha we went.

To witness and capture Valerie and Craig’s most special day ever. As they celebrated with family and friends with a backyard BBQ before their wedding. Got ready for their big days with their most special people. Saw each other for the first time (talk about ALLL the feels!). When Valerie’s dad walked her down the aisle, and as their daughters stood beside them as they exchanged vows. Dinner, dancing, toasts, and the best party we’ve seen in a long time. This weekend was not one to be forgotten.

There were so many moments shared by this sweet family, and so many emotions. So much adrenaline, and fun, and just so much dang love and admiration.
