Colorful Lakeside Lake Quivira Country Club Fall Wedding
Planning a wedding this year has been so hard on so many couples. Between date changes, last minute cancellations and occupancy limits, dare we say, wedding planning has just been plain awful. All of that being said though, Michelle and Tony fall into a very unique category of planning brides and grooms this year. You see, these two were able to stick with their original wedding date AND location, since they were having an outside, colorful lakeside Lake Quivira Country Club fall wedding. These two even got lucky enough to not have to cut their guest count one little bit.

Michelle and Tony started their wedding morning off strong: with Michelle having breakfast time mimosas and dance parties with allll of her cousins (hello big Polish family!), and Tony having the occasional Hamms in between his cups of coffee with his equally rambunctious groomsmen.
Michelle and Tony decided to do a first look on their wedding day so they could get all of their photos out of the way. So after their wedding ceremony? They could go straight into the party and not stop.
Michelle and Tony’s first look was unlike any we’ve ever seen before.
As Michelle was approaching Tony (we’re talking, maybe ¼ of a football field away still), Tony heard her coming, turned around, and ran to meet her. He just couldn’t wait to see his beautiful bride any longer than he had to! And after that first look? You better believe these two were completely inseparable for the rest of their wedding day.
One of the things that was most important to Michelle and Tony on their wedding day was to get a family photo with ALL of Michelle’s family that was in town for the wedding.
She warned us this would be no small feat, and, as it turned out, she was right. It’s safe to say that ¾ of Michelle and Tony’s wedding guests were from Michelle’s large family. Which meant that allll of those family members were also in their large group photo. It was so much fun to see this photo take shape, and to see Michelle and her momma’s reaction when they saw the final image. So often our couples rush through their formal family photos, but Michelle and Tony cherished every second of theirs.
It’s safe to say that when it finally, finally came time for their wedding ceremony, that Michelle and Tony were having the best day ever, full of so much laughter.
That only changed a little bit during their wedding ceremony. There was so much laughter, and everyone from Tony’s Dad to the bridesmaids let out a big belly laugh at some point. But despite all of the laughter, Tony, sweet, excited, loving Tony, let his emotions get the best of him. This gentle giant shed so many sweet, in-love, best-day-ever tears as he and Michelle were saying their vows and exchanging their rings. Because of all of the emotion included, it’s safe to say that Tony and Michelle’s wedding ceremony was by far our favorite part of their entire day.
Which, of course, was followed by more laughter at cocktail hour.
While their guests enjoyed cocktail hour, we stole Michelle and Tony away for a few minutes to take a few portraits. These few, stolen moments always wind up being some of our couples’ favorites of their whole day. And, like so many other couples, Michelle and Tony relished their quiet time together. Reflecting on everything that had happened already, chatting about all of their family and friends that were able to make it into town, and just genuinely enjoying each other.
When picture time was done? These two went in and had an early dinner while their guests finished up cocktail hour.
Michelle and Tony chose to eat dinner early so they could go around and visit with each and every table and guest during dinner. It was so, so important to them to be able to thank everyone for coming from out of town. After dinner, toasts, and cake, Michelle and Tony’s reception really got going. These two brought in their favorite cover band from St. Louis to perform at their reception. And when your favorite band has travelled across the state to play your reception? You better believe these two partied on the dance floor allllll night long.
