Nighttime Car Engagement Session

“We’re coming to you because we want something different.” Friends. Are you thinking the same thing as you read this? Then please know you’re in the right place. And that’s exactly what we said to Tenise and Brandon when we first met with them to talk wedding day. In fact, I think it’s safe to say that about 95% of the couples that we work with say this exact same thing to us. And you know what? We love it when that happens. Because it means that it’s meant to be. That we’re all going to get along just fine. And that they’re here for the right reasons.

You see, our couples don’t book us just to hire a wedding photographer. Nor do they hire us because they just want pretty pictures. They hire us because they know we’re willing to step outside the box. Because we’re willing to do some things that other photographers won’t. And because they know we’re going to have all the fun breaking some of the more “traditional” photography rules. We’re not afraid to push the limits a little bit to create something “different.” And by the time it’s all said and done? We’re all going to be bffs.

We love this so much about our couples. Tenise and Brandon are no different. Their idea of “different?” Doing their whole engagement session after dark. Including their gorgeous purple cars (Kyle’s cringing right now that I don’t know the make and model). And embracing Brandon being a veteran and incorporating the 5000 giant poppies that lit up Liberty Memorial to celebrate the Centennial anniversary of the end of World War 1? That was one of the coolest things we’ve ever gotten to experience with our couples. It’s something I’m sure none of us will ever forget.

Was it going to be tricky? Absolutely. Was it something people expected from a couple’s engagement session? Eh, probably not. But here’s the thing. It was totally Tenise and Brandon. And because of that we loved every single minute of it. Even if it was cool, drizzly, and we were all slightly sick that night.

But you know what? We embraced their idea and ran with it. And the end result? Engagement pictures that literally, no one else on the planet will ever have but Tenise and Brandon. We love so much that these two wanted something different and let our creative minds just roam. That they trusted us so much. And we can’t even wait for their wedding day in May. CAN’T EVEN WAIT!
