Chances are if you’ve creeped around on our blog or social media at all, you’ve noticed that we like to share wedding planning advice. Not because it’s something that we know everything about. But because it’s something that we know a little bit about, and want to share with others to maybe help make their lives easier in some way, shape or form. Sometimes that advice is timeline related, post-wedding, engagement session prep, or all over the place. But our very best, number one piece of wedding advice will always be the same.

You have to do what’s right for you and your relationship. No matter who is paying for things, or what other people are telling you to do. Even if it’s the biggest wedding trend of the year, if it doesn’t feel right to you then don’t do it. “You should” is a heavy, heavy sentence. And we always try to avoid telling our couples what they “should” do. BUT. One thing you should always do is put your relationship first.

Even if that means postponing your wedding day. Or rescheduling it all together because everything just gets out of hand. Which, happens sometimes. It’s not something that a lot of people talk about in our industry, but it does happen. And it’s okay when it does. Because in the long run, your relationship is much, much more important than a single day. And when it comes down to it, your big day should be about you. And one heck of a celebration of your relationship.
