If it were up me, we would have a fall wedding in Kansas City with gorgeous leaves everywhere. Since October is our busiest time of year that’s not a possibility. However, when Jackie and Tim got married last fall at The Loretto, I got to vicariously have our wedding through their day. You couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful fall day. And the tree colors were to die for!! Jackie was actually a bridesmaid in a wedding that we shot two Octobers ago at Sporting KC. We had so much fun getting to know here then, and loved getting to meet Tim as well.
Getting Ready at The Loretto
Having been in a few weddings before, Jackie and Tim knew that they didn’t want to rent a bus and travel around Kansas City for photos. Instead they wanted to find one great location for both their ceremony, reception, and wedding party photos as well. The Loretto was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony and reception. You’ve probably driven by it and not realized that it’s a wedding venue. It’s right off 39th Street in Westport just down the street from Q39. It’s got plenty of space for both a ceremony and a reception, so we didn’t move around at all on Jackie and Tim’s day, but took advantage of the gorgeous Loretto grounds.
Bridal Pictures & First Look
Jackie and Tim chose to do a First Look, which happened in a small, private courtyard just behind the Loretto. Yes, those colors on the trees are real and no, we didn’t intensify them in Photoshop at all. They were just that beautiful.
After their ceremony while their guests moved from one part of the building to another, we snuck back outside with Jackie and Tim for a few more intimate photos at sunset before heading in for their reception. Here’s just a peek into their gorgeous fall wedding – enjoy!
