Well hello there! We hope you’re having a great week! Today we’re excited to launch a brand new blog and resource for our couples. And it’s something we’re pretty excited about since it means that we get to meet lots of cool people that are passionate about the same things we are. Today we’re launching our Featured Vendor Series. What is it? Exactly what it sounds like. Each month we’ll be chit chatting and photographing other wedding industry professionals from across the board. We’ll be getting to know them, asking them some questions, for planning advice, and of course, snapping a few photos.

Why are we doing this? Honestly? Because it means we get to meet other cool people (see above), and as a resource for you. More often than not we’re one of the first vendors our couples book. And after that, they normally ask us for help with finding other vendors that we think are awesome. Now, instead of just sending you a list of websites, we’ll send you straight to our blog where you can get to know some of Kansas City’s amazing vendors and what makes them tick.

First up, is one of our good friends and wedding planner extraordinaire, Stephanie Hopkins of Pretty and Planned. Stephanie is one of the most genuine, sweetest people we know, and she puts everything she’s got into making her couples’ wedding day dreams come true.

Who are you?

“I’m Stephanie. Owner & Lead Coordinator with Pretty + Planned Events. I plan, on average 30-35 weddings a year in KC and own a stationary boutique in downtown Parkville, MO!”

How did you get started?

“I’ve been coordinating weddings for 10 years, but was only part time until 2015 when I quit my corporate job to go full time in business!”

What motivates you to do what you do?

“My family. My first born was the reason I quit my corporate job, I was tired of that firm schedule and wanted my own freedom and flexibility to make my own schedule…while doing work I actually enjoyed!!”

What’s one thing you wish clients would ask?

“What to worry about. I wish people wouldn’t worry about the minor details (that’s why you hire a planner!).”

What’s one tip for a bride and groom planning their wedding day?

“BUDGET!! So many couples don’t have ANY clue what it really costs to have the wedding they want.”

What’s your favorite thing about what you do?

“Witnessing the little moments. When we get to reveal the room to the bride and groom, watching the family moments. And of course, the Father/Daughter dance.”

Do you have any hobbies, travels, or fun stories you want to share?

“We love to travel!! I sometimes get lost online just googling places I want to go next. My husband and I have been to 9 countries as a married couple, and hope to add many more soon! I’d love to go to Ireland next!”
