Ashley & Tyler's Atlanta Engagement Session

Have we mentioned yet that we love to travel? Well, we do, and we especially love to go new places when our clients request it! Meet Ashley and Tyler! Kyle actually went to high school with Tyler, and Ashley happened to be a bridesmaid in one of our weddings from last fall (hey Jess & Mick!). When they got engaged they both knew that they wanted us to cover their wedding. We were so excited to hear from them! For their engagement photos, they asked if we could come to Atlanta to do their photos.

Their wedding day will incorporate things from Georgia that they both love. Kyle and I were so excited to get out of town for a few days so we were definitely game! We started Ashley and Tyler’s engagement session at the Woodruff Arts Center in midtown Atlanta. While there, we found great architecture, and several gorgeous corners around some of Atlanta’s best museums. Afterwards we headed to Piedmont Park. Since they’re both originally from Kansas City, Ashley and Tyler wanted to be sure to work Royal’s gear into their engagement.

One spot that Ashley and Tyler requested and that we were definitely more than happy to accommodate them with was a neighborhood in Atlanta called Cabbagetown. It’s an older neighborhood that’s in the process of being brought up to date with lots of great restaurants and shops. Cabbage town is known for Krogg Tunnel, a tunnel that is completely covered with graffiti. Ashley told us that a few times a year they completely whitewash the walls and tunnels to get a blank slate for new artists to showcase their work. It’s a vibrant, living, breathing, constantly changing part of the city, and we absolutely loved it.

I mean really – check out those colors! As sunset approached and we finished up in Cabbagetown we made our way to one of the best spots in Atlanta to catch a great view of the downtown skyline – the Jackson Street Bridge. You may recognize this angle of the city from the opening scene of The Walking Dead.
