Wyandotte County Lake Summer Engagement Session
#funfact: We’re planners, to a certain extent. But after that? Well, friends. Let’s just say that whatever happens, happens. And when it does? We’ll plan on taking full advantage of it. Take Christy and Sam’s Wyandotte County Lake summer engagement session. We planned to meet these two at Wyandotte County Lake, and we planned to take their engagement pictures with them in and around the park grounds.

But what we didn’t plan for?
The flock of ducks that invaded their engagement session and temporarily stole the show. But when the ducks invaded? You better believe we took full advantage of them. I have to say, it was definitely the first time an engagement session has ever been invaded by ducks, and it was so much fun! In fact, Some of the “duck” photos wound up being some of Christy and Sam’s favorite engagement pictures.
The other thing we didn’t plan for?
Sam being able to do a standing back tuck. Christy and Kyle encouraging him, and then, of course, staging pictures around it. I kid you not, friends. And to be honest I don’t even remember how it came up. But, towards the end of their engagement session, Sam pulled off a back tuck. As Christy laughed, smiled, and encouraged him. Because, you know, why not?
What did we learn from Christy and Sam’s engagement session? Well, for one, to expect the unexpected, because it will happen. And when it does? To roll with the punches and take full advantage of it. Because in that unexpectedness? That’s where the magic is, friends.
