Vox Theater Reception | Amanda & Scott
Can you believe that summer is already halfway over? We can’t either. We really can’t believe that images from Amanda and Scott’s May Olathe wedding and Vox Theater reception are ready. Just crazy! Amanda and Scott made it clear to us that their wedding images were a priority for them. We are excited to share their story with you!
Getting Ready
Instead of getting ready at a hotel or church basement, Amanda got ready at The Vintage House in Overland Park. If we’re completely honest, this set the tone for their whole wedding day. Amanda, her bridesmaids, and family were able to get ready in a beautiful, peaceful setting that they had all to their own. And man – the portraits of Amanda here are probably some of our favorite getting ready and bridal portraits!
Wedding Ceremony
Amanda and Scott decided not to do a first look before their traditional Catholic Church wedding. The excitement was definitely building as we met Scott at the church for. After a private first look with her Dad Amanda was ready to walk down the aisle to meet her groom.
Bridal & Wedding Party Portraits
For their wedding photos, we knew we wanted to create something completely elegant and classic, so we headed to Union Station for their bridal portraits. We absolutely love the late afternoon light that comes in the upper windows of Union Station, and knew we wanted to use that light somehow. Amanda and Scott were game, and wound up dancing in the middle of the crowd in the perfect block of sunlight. It still amazes us how intimate those images feel despite people hustling and bustling all around them. After their wedding party portraits we snuck our beautiful bride and handsome groom away for a few quiet moments for just the two of them before heading to our second location, a quiet park just off The Plaza.
Reception
Amanda and Scott LOVE Sporting KC, so much that they researched and found the confetti canons the team uses at the games so they could use them for their reception introduction. We have seen a lot of reception entrances over the years, but this one takes the cake as the biggest and most fun. And man – those confetti canons! After dinner, (which Amanda’s Dad catered!) Amanda and Scott shared their first dance, cut their wedding cake, and danced the night away. We’ve never seen so many people on the dance floor – it was so much fun!
Congratulations again Amanda and Scott!! We are so happy for you and so glad that we were part of your wedding day!
