Friends. Did we tell you about the super-exciting thing that we got asked to participate in a while back? If you follow us on Instagram you may know what we’re talking about. But we’re about 99% sure that we haven’t gotten a chance to share it here yet.

A few weeks ago, one of our dear friends asked us if we had heard that Union Station was throwing a “Day of Love” for 21 lucky couples in the Kansas City area. What is the “Day of Love?” Well, essentially, the wonderful humans on the Union Station Events team decided that they wanted to do something to help out all of the couples who didn’t get to have the weddings they dreamed of because of Coronavirus. Whether it was because of occupancy limits, stay-at-home orders, or travel limitations, there were so, so many couples that have been impacted by the Coronavirus, as we’re sure you’re well aware.

Well. Union Station decided to open up 3 of their coolest venues for 21 lucky couples to choose to have their wedding at: Jarvis Hunt Room, A rvin Gottlieb Planetarium, and H averty Family Yards. Each couple had exactly 1 hour in their venue to get married, celebrate with their VIPS, and take pictures on the grounds. And did we mention that Alpha-Light put up another really cool display in the Grand Hall at Union Station? Because these couples got to take advantage of that too.

So, on the hottest Saturday of the year yet, we packed up our camera bags, water bottles, masks, and all of the sunscreen and headed to Union Station.

And friends. What an amazing day. What an amazing experience to get to take part in.

You know by know that we’re absolute suckers for love and wedding days. And getting to document 5 of them right in a row? Getting to witness those vows and rings get exchanged? It was the coolest thing ever. Even if their original wedding plans didn’t pan out the way they intended, these amazing humans still got to get married. What a super-special day-of-love it was.

We’ll hopefully be sharing more from each of these sweet couples with you soon, each in their own individual post. But for now, here’s just a peak at all of these lovebirds.
