Romantic Longview Mansion Engagement Session

F

Finding Nemo may be one of our very favorite movies. Not just because of the cute fish, or sea turtles, but because of all of the heart in the movie. One of our very favorite lines from the movie: “When I look at you, I can feel it. I look at you and I’m home.” What does Finding Nemo have to do with a romantic engagement session? The sweet, sweet couple that we had the opportunity to create engagement images for.

Sabrina and Bubba were high school sweethearts. They’ve had each other’s back for longer than we’ve known each other. And they’ve always known each other was the one – that they were “home” with the other one. And it’s something so very visibly special and tangible. You can tell the moment you meet them. The care that Bubba takes to open Sabrina’s door, and to always put her first. In the way that Sabrina rolls her eyes at him, but still laughs at his jokes, no matter how many times she’s heard them. And it’s so very obvious in the way they hold each other and treat each other.

We knew these two needed a super-romantic location for their engagement session, and what place better than Longview Mansion? The overgrown pergola is one of our favorites, but we always hesitate to use it unless it’s just right. It was just right for these two.

But, can we tell you our favorite part of our time together? It actually came after their session, when Bubba swung by to pick up a wall portrait they had decided to print. We knew the image he was about to open was one of his favorites, but he still brought tears to my eyes in the following moments. Instead of just taking the print and leaving, he took a moment and sat down. He very carefully opened the box the image was wrapped in, but didn’t take it out. He wanted Sabrina to be the first one to actually hold the print. Sitting in our studio, looking at his image, the emotion just came pouring out of him, and it’s something I’ll never forget.

“I just love that woman so, so much. She means everything to me, and I would do anything for her. This will always be one of my favorite pictures of the two of us. If it doesn’t say that we’re a strong and powerful couple who always has each other’s back, then I don’t know what would. Thank you so much for making this happen.” I’m just not much sure that it gets much sweeter than that, and we are SO very excited for their wedding this July.

In the meantime, here are a few of their very favorite engagement images. Enjoy!
