President Hotel Timeless Summer Wedding

I

Irene and Mitch are finally, finally married, friends. And their President Hotel timeless summer wedding day? Not a second went by that wasn’t absolutely filled with joy and love celebrating these two lovebirds. They spent their entire day completely surrounded by family and friends, both from here in Kansas City and those that made the trip from Mitch’s home state of Wisconsin. And did we mention that their sweet baby girl Lily even got to join in the celebration? Because that happened too.

Irene and Mitch chose to do a first look on their wedding day.

They wanted to be sure they got to spend their whole day together, with all of their family and friends surrounding them instead of avoiding each other. And, after a super sweet, super emotional first look that left everyone around them in tears, that’s exactly what these two sweet lovebirds did. After spending a few private moments together after their first look, Irene and Mitch hopped on a party bus full of their wedding party, all of their plus ones, and several coolers full of White Claw to go take wedding party pictures.

And after a few hours of wedding party shenanigans?

Irene and Mitch headed back to the President Hotel to spend a few quiet moments together with their sweet girl Lily, just the three of them. We were invited to tag along to this sweet family quiet time, and friends. Believe us when we say that in all of our years of taking photos of families and couples alike, that we’re not sure we’ve ever seen a more pure, bottomless love and joy than getting to watch these three special humans together.

Again, not a dry eye in sight.

Especially because right after these quiet moments? It was time to get married. Instead of walking his momma down the aisle, Mitch chose to walk Lily down the aisle. Friends, I’m not sure that there have ever been more happy tears and sobs of joy on a wedding day. Irene and Mitch chose to have a close friend of theirs officiate their wedding ceremony. Again, full of so much love and so many happy tears. Their officiant, who knew his close friends so well, incorporated part of The Hippocratic Oath that doctors take in med school, but applied it to marriage instead.

As Irene and Mitch stood together, holding hands and looking into each others’ eyes, you could just feel the love and joy in the room.

These sweet lovebirds wrote their own vows, and after reading them to each other (with more happy tears), finally got to seal the deal with a kiss and an impromptu dance back down the aisle. We love so much that Irene and Mitch chose to attend their cocktail hour. Especially since they had so many friends and family visiting from out of town. This gave them a chance to make sure they greeted all of their guests, take as many selfies as possible, and have a little bit of downtime before their wedding reception.

Irene and Mitch’s wedding reception? It was an absolute BLAST. Complete with a handful of meaningful toasts by all of their humans, including Mitch’s co-best men, his brothers, and Irene’s sweet dad. And, of course, it wouldn’t be Irene and Mitch’s wedding day without more happy tears from everyone involved. Throw in some glow sticks, a packed dance floor, and an open bar? You guys. I don’t think anyone at Mitch and Irene’s wedding will be forgetting it for a long, long time.

We did steal these two sweet love birds away for a few end-of-the-night photos.

If that’s not something you have built into your wedding day timeline, I highly, highly recommend and encourage it. Not only will you wrap up your wedding day with some great photos, but it will also give you two a few special moments to share together to reminisce on your wedding day. When we were finished with photos, Irene begged Mitch to just sneak up upstairs and go to bed because she was so tired, but Mitch insisted they return to their reception for late night snacks, and to finish celebrating with their family and friends.

These two ended their night surrounded by a tight circle of their loved ones, everyone with arms around each other, swaying and singing to Billy Joel’s The Piano Man.

Best day ever? We’re pretty sure it’s safe to say YES!
