Elegant Lilac Summer Wedding

A

Andrea and Joe. Joe and Andrea. Where do we even start with these two?! They’re two of the hardest loving, biggest hearted, most unselfish people we know. And earlier this summer? They got married! In quite possibly one of the very sweetest, most emotional wedding ceremonies we’ve seen. Their whole day they were completely surrounded by all of their family and friends. And we’re so glad that we were able to be included in that group of people that calls them friends.

Best advice for a bride?

Make memories with your groom, bridal party, family and friends; don’t try to be in control or worry about things. If anything goes wrong it is what it is, let your trusted wedding planner handle it. You will never get this day back so make it as memorable as possible for yourself.

Best advice for a groom?

Help your bride prep for everything! Take the initiative to get groomsmen’s gifts ready and tuxedo options laid out. Help her communicate and most of all show her your unconditional love/support during this time. Always put her first and never make her regret asking you for help.

What were your favorite moments from your wedding day?

My favorite moment was walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Joe. I was shocked by Joe’s emotions and I’ll never forget the look on his face.

What do you wish you knew before you started planning?

I wish I would have had a notebook with everything I needed. Even the little details all the way down to how I wanted the napkins folded. I wish I would of kept it all together in one notebook.

Any words of wisdom for those still planning?

I would say to be as prepared as possible. Having a wedding planner as well. It doesn’t matter if you are having a small, medium, or large wedding. There are many tiny details that may not seem time consuming or difficult but trust me, they are! There is never enough time in the day, I suggest allowing extra time for everything.

Favorite Splurge?

Everything was a splurge!

What’s next for you two?

Joe and I chose to honeymoon from Monday through Tuesday. We allowed one day after the wedding to recover and get our things together. I would recommend allowing two to three days. We picked San Francisco for four days and then fly to San Diego for four days. We are loving it!

Anything else you would like to share with us/planning brides and grooms?

It’s your day. And anyone who is being selfish, be sure to remind them it’s about you and not them! Have fun! Smile and laugh! It’s the longest, fastest day of your life.

Congratulations Andrea and Joe! We are so excited and happy for you and are excited to see where life takes you!
