If you’re looking for a venue that feels more modern farmhouse with a little bit of rustic, be sure to check out the Farmhouse KC Event Venue. This is a brand new venue that is absolutely beautiful! With a super spacious indoor space filled with shiplap, and beautiful chandeliers, and a wooded, but paved outside ceremony space, the Farmhouse KC has it all. And did we mention their super spacious bride and groom suites? This gem of a rustic venue is conveniently located in Independence on a dead-end road, where you’ll feel like you’ve completely left the city.

The Barn at Schwinn Produce Farm

Schwinn Produce Farms is one of the best rustic wedding venues in Kansas City, hands down. Located just outside of Leavenworth on a 2 lane highway, this charming venue has a heated and air-conditioned barn that’s perfect for celebrations any time of the year. And, it’s outside the ceremony space? Feels like you’re deep in the woods, even though you’re steps from the main barn. The owners of this venue even put green turf down in their ceremony space so high heels wouldn’t sink into the mud. With acres surrounding the venue there are tons of photo opportunities, and one of only a handful of farms in the KC area to have huge crop of sunflowers every year.

Tobacco Barn Farm

If you’re looking for a super authentic, super rustic barn setting for your wedding look no farther than the Tobacco Barn Farm in Kearney, MO. Just 25 minutes from downtown KC, The Tobacco Barn Farm is an open-air barn venue. This super sweet venue also has a dedicated outside ceremony space, complete with its own arbor overlooking a small pond. There’s no shortage of photo opportunities at Tobacco Barn Farm, and the owners and staff are some of the best around. 

Mellon Acres

Mellon Acres is different from all of the venues that we’ve chatted about for a few different reasons. 1: it’s completely out of the city. Liberty is the closest “city” with hotels, and Mellon Acres is an additional 25-30 minute drive away from Liberty 2. In addition to the venue itself, Mellon Acres also has a handful of small cabins on the property that can be rented for family and wedding party members to stay in. This rustic venue also has a modern barn with heating and air conditioning for dinner and winter celebrations, in addition to an open-air barn for summer wedding receptions.

Weston Barns

Just a short drive away from Kansas City in the small town of Weston is the Weston Red Barn Farm. But, don’t let the name fool you. The Red Barn Farm has not 1, but 2 unique super rustic barn venues to choose from. The original Red Barn Farm is situated closer to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard, while the more rustic Timber Barn sits on top of the hill closest to the farm, overlooking the land and winding driveway leading up to the barn. For a super rustic, super midwest wedding experience, be sure to check both of these awesome venues out.
