Fun-Filled Summer Wedding at The Farmhouse KC Event Venue
One of our very favorite things about every wedding day is seeing how each couple makes it theirs. Jordan and Dawson were no different in that aspect: they took their wedding day and put their own spin on it. And in return, they wound up having the most fun-filled summer wedding at The Farmhouse KC Event Venue ever.
When we say they put their own spin on things, here’s what we mean.
These two lovebirds worked so hard while they were planning their wedding day to keep the focus on why they were even having a wedding: to marry their best friend and love of their life. Throughout their day, they set aside time to share special moments both separate and together. For instance, they exchanged notes before they got dressed, each taking a few quiet moments to read the note the other one had written.
Jordan and Dawson also decided to do a first look on their wedding day. Which meant not only did they get to hang out together all day long, but they also get to spend some time together, privately on their wedding day. Only after their first look and about 30 minute worth of photos did they bring in their wedding party for shenanigans.
Last, but not least, was maybe our favorite part of their whole wedding day.
Jordan and Dawson built in time to do a private last dance at the end of their wedding reception. As their family and friends were lining up outside, their DJ dimmed the lights again, and played one of their favorite songs. These two held each other close and whispered sweet nothings, giggling together as they shared one last dance on the best day ever.
On their wedding day, it was also super important to Jordan and Dawson to make sure their wedding party and family members were taken care of. This meant ordering lunch for everyone, to make sure they had full bellies. For Jordan, it also meant including her mom, Dawson’s, mom, and their grandmas in getting hair and makeup done. At cocktail hour, instead of just serving cocktails, they also served snacks for their wedding guests to snack on while we finished photos up outside.
And during their wedding reception?
Jordan and Dawson built time into their evening for both sets of their parents to share a dance celebrating their own marriages and anniversaries. Our favorite part? For the last minute or so of the song, Jordan, her brother, and sister joined her parents, and Dawson and his sister joined his parents. There’s nothing quite like honoring what came before you by celebrating it in the present.
The last big spin Jordan and Dawson put on their fun-filled summer wedding day happened at their reception. During college, one of their very favorite things to do together was head to the local bar with a big group of their friends and party the night away. Their goal for their reception? To recreate that atmosphere at their wedding reception. Needless to say the drinks were flowing allllll night long, and their DJ played all of their favorite music.
