Brass on Baltimore Wedding | Abby & Mark

W

We met Abby about two years ago while shooting another wedding. She is the very talented owner of A Wedding Come True and we became instant friends. We were beyond excited when she contacted us last year with the exciting news that she and her boyfriend had gotten engaged! Abby and Mark decided to have both their wedding and reception at the same venue in downtown Kansas City. We knew that Abby and Mark’s Brass on Baltimore wedding was going to be fabulous, especially since Abby was doing all of the planning and décor.

Abby and the ladies got ready at Hotel Phillips, which is just around the corner from The Brass on Baltimore. We had to do some portraits with Abby while she was there before we made our way to The Brass on Baltimore for their first look. Abby and Mark knew that they wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous views the venue offers, and they decided to do their first look and gift exchange on the roof, and the views were incredible!

For their ceremony space in The Brass lobby, Abby moved several large trees in to line the aisle. She hung crystals and tea lights from the tree branches, and as the sun went down outside and the room grew darker the tea lights were the perfect addition to the ambient light. PS – did you see those gorgeous mismatched champagne bridesmaid dresses?! All of Abby’s sisters chose their own gown so they would feel completely comfortable, and man, was the combination stunning!

Abby and Mark knew they wanted their day to be fun and relaxed, and they definitely succeeded in making their dream day happen. From the jazz trio that Abby walked down the aisle to, to a private cocktail toast with just the bridal party, their day was full of details. Abby and Mark knew that their friends and family weren’t big dancers, and they wanted everyone to feel comfortable, so Abby installed several lounge furniture vignettes around the rooftop reception room for friends and family to relax on. They also brought in a pool table for Mark’s buddies to play throughout the evening, and kept things chill with a crème-brulee station instead of a traditional wedding cake.

Abby and Mark’s day was absolutely beautiful, and so very personal. We’re so glad we got to be there for their wedding day and can’t wait to work with Abby again!
