2019 PWG Masquerade Ball
One of the biggest perks of working in the wedding industry is the parties. If we’re being honest, every weekend we get to attend a party. Normally it’s a party that happens after a wedding ceremony, but the whole day is still one big celebration from start to finish. That we get to attend. Because it’s our “job.” (I use the word “job” loosely, because most days what we do doesn’t ever feel like a job.) The downside is that about 98% of the time when a wedding vendor attends a party it’s because we’re working. Which doesn’t take away the fun factor, just the relaxation factor. You know, because we all want to be responsible vendors on your wedding day to make sure we execute flawlessly.
Outside of wedding days we get to attend more parties. If you’re active in the Kansas City wedding vendor community, you’ll likely attend a party at least once a week. Whether it’s an open house, a block party, the opening of a new venue, or a themed networking event or luncheon, there’s always something going on. And these celebrations are great too. So many people put so much hard work into rocking each and every one of these events too. And it’s so fun to go and meet new people and see new things. If we’re being honest, the KC wedding vendor community is extremely tight knit and so supportive of each other. That’s one of the things we love the most about this amazing group of vendors that we get to call friends.
The Kansas City Wedding Vendor community is really the best there is.
But. Once a year, Perfect Wedding Guide puts on a Masquerade Ball. What is the Masquerade Ball? It’s a chance for KC wedding vendors to all get together, celebrate each other, and let loose a little bit. To get dressed up in something that’s not black from head to toe. To really celebrate the end of the last wedding season and the beginning of the new one. And it’s a BLAST. And while, yes, there are still a few vendors working to put everything together, it’s a much more relaxed environment.
This year we had the honor of getting asked to photograph the 5th Annual PWG Masquerade Ball. AND IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!! We got to work with an amazing group of vendors before the ball for a 1920’s Styled Shoot at The Abbott. Afterwards, we all got to get all fancy together for the ball. And with a 1920’s theme, it was incredible.
2019 PWG Masquerade Ball
Stephanie and the team from Pretty and Planned really went all out with the theme. And the Heart + Soul Floral Team? They went above and beyond in creating two peacocks made of florals. That’s right. IT WAS AMAZING. Pech Limo brought in a crazy-cool car to take photos with, there were all kinds of gorgeous tablescapes. And three different caterers supplied the food. Add in casino games, the gorgeousness that is The Abbott, live music from KC Flow and swing dancers? It was one hell of a party. And even though we were working, we still got to dress up and celebrate with our friendors.
What a night, friends, what a night. We sure are grateful to be part of this amazing, supportive, crazy-cool fun group of wedding vendors. And we’re so happy that we get to call you all friends. Thank you so much for letting us capture you getting down with your bad selves. 🙂 Here’s to a wonderful 2019 wedding season!
