Shelby & Clarke's Rustic Smithville Wedding

We have been lucky to know Shelby and Clarke for years.  We were so honored when they asked us to be their wedding photographers!  These two met at William Jewell, where Kyle also met them. Shelby ran track and Clarke played baseball, so Kyle’s taken photos of them for years now.

Shelby and Clarke decided to have a rustic themed wedding at their church in Smithville. The ladies had a relaxing morning getting ready at Shelby’s parent’s home in Smithville. Even though she got ready at her parents’ home, Shelby made sure that her Dad wasn’t around while she got ready. When he arrived at the church, she wanted to surprise him and do a first look with him. These always tug at my heartstrings, but this one especially. Shelby’s Dad was just awestruck by his daughter. It was the sweetest moment!

Shelby and Clarke also decided to not do a first look, but just go right into their ceremony, which we loved! After their traditional Catholic ceremony, the bridal party went to take photos on location on the way to the reception site, Heritage Hall in Liberty, MO. For their photos we stuck with the rustic feeling, and stopped at one of our favorite fields for a few minutes. The cloudy skies just add to the drama! After spending some time at the field, we headed to the William Jewell Baseball Stadium for a few more photos before heading to Heritage Hall.

Shelby and her mom decorated the entire entryway with family wedding photos, dresses, and mementos, which we love! These two danced the night away with their friends and family, and we couldn’t be happier for them. Congratulations again Shelby & Clarke, we are so happy for you!
