Romantic Kansas City Winter Wedding

We are so excited to share Kaitlyn & Josh’s romantic Kansas City winter wedding with you!! These two lovebirds met in college at K-State and have been together ever since. Knowing they both wanted snow for their wedding day, they carefully chose their wedding date using the Farmer’s Almanac. Lo and behold, we will never forget, Josh running back into the church after their ceremony, so excited that it was finally snowing! We’ve had such a great time with these two, and are so, so happy for them!

Kaitlyn’s advice for planning brides: “Enjoy the process. This only happens once in your life!”

Josh’s advice for grooms: “Even if you have absolutely zero ideas, preferences, thoughts, about the big day – try to give your bride some input. She will value it more than you realize and you will feel like you played a role in planning the big day.”

Any words of wisdom for those still planning? “Enjoy the little things. Don’t stress too much. It is easy to get caught up in little details and lose sight of what is important: your spouse! I’d highly recommend taking a mini vacay a few weeks before the big day! Even if it’s just an overnight at a local B&B! We took a weekend trip to Disney and it was exactly the re-charge that we needed!”

Favorite Splurge? “Our photographers, DUH! Also all of our stationary – any printed good was done by Soli Printing and they were exceptional! Menus, programs, invites, etc.”

What do you wish you knew before you started planning? “Procrastination is a real thing, and it’s not fun!”

What were your favorite moments from your wedding day? “THE SNOW!!! It was gorgeous! Also getting some quality time with my new hubby before the festivities began. Getting ready with all of the girls was so fun, I will not soon forget that!”

What’s next for you two? “We took some time over the holidays to relax and enjoy our families. Since we had to go back to work for a few weeks before heading off to our honeymoon and it was sort of nice to let the dust settle! We recently returned from our honeymoon to Fiji. Words cannot describe how amazing that was! We spent 7 amazing days at a gorgeous 5 star resort in SavuSavu, Fiji. We are not at a point where we do not know what to do with all of our free time! Occasionally we will joke with each other, ‘let’s have another wedding!’”
