Many of you know the very beautiful and talented Melissa wedding days that she has worked with us. We are so lucky to have had this sweet, hard-working girl on our team for the last 4-5 years. Melissa is often our third set of hands and lovely assistant at many of our weddings in the Kansas City area. If you’ve had the chance to work with her you know just how wonderful she is. If you haven’t gotten the chance to work with her, you will soon know how wonderful she is! And guess what?! Her finance, Kolton, proposed not too long ago, and they’re working on planning their wedding for this November! We are SO ready to do her wedding photos for her, and cannot wait until November! In the meantime, we thought we would share a look into Melissa and Kolton’s spring mini engagement session.
What?! A mini-engagement session? Yes – you did read it right!! No, this isn’t something that we’re going to regularly start offering, but we do like to be flexible with our couples. Every now and again our couples have a very specific idea in mind of what they want for their engagement session: fall photos, a session out of state, in a certain location, etc., that may not be easily feasible to accomplish right away, so we offer to do a mini engagement session for them. In Melissa and Kolton’s case, they wanted to get their save-the-dates out as soon as possible since they’re planning a November wedding. The catch? None of us were going to be able to get away to Colorado for their engagement session until mid-July (we’re actually there shooting as we speak!). So we offered to do a mini-session, and Melissa and Kolton were game.

Here’s just a peek at the images from their mini-session in Kansas City’s West Bottoms. We can’t wait to get back to Kansas City to share more images from their full engagement session in Colorado! We’re actually going to the very spot in the mountains where Kolton proposed!
