Today we’re taking a look back at Kelli and Jesse’s unforgettable West Bottoms Engagement Session from last fall. When we first met these two it was obvious that they’re perfect for each other. And that they like to have some fun! To be completely honest, I’m not sure that we’ve ever laughed as much during an engagement session! They definitely kept us on our toes!
Kelli and Jesse left their engagement locations up to us. They mentioned they wanted something urban to contrast the greenery that would be in their wedding photos at The Elms. We actually don’t shoot in the West Bottoms too often, because it’s often too crowded with photographers. But, we were lucky and got a pretty “empty” day. It worked out so great!

After their first location we knew we wanted to give them a gorgeous sunset, so we picked one of our favorite spots. Mother Nature more than delivered and these two got a sunset like we’ve never seen before.

Since the Royals were playing in the World Series for the first time in 29 years, Kansas City was showing it’s spirit all over the place. As we were wrapping up just after sunset Kelli and Jesse asked if we could swing by the Kauffman Center to do a quick photo with the big blue heart on the side of the building. Not knowing whether this would be another once in 30 years scenario, we knew that we had to, and are so glad they suggested it!
Since they’re both die-hard Royals fans this was probably one of their favorite images from their session, and we can’t blame them. We actually just met with these two earlier this week to finalize details for their wedding coming up at the end of May – we can’t believe it’s almost time for them to say “I do!” Until then, have a peek at their engagement session from last fall!
