Different. It’s probably one of the most used words when people talk about our work. It’s one of the reasons our couples tell us they love working with us. For some, the word different is almost like a swear word. Around here, it’s one of the words that encourages us to keep pushing forward. It’s something we pride ourselves on, and strive to do with each session or shoot. Most of our clients ask for different, and are drawn to it.
And believe it or not, every now and again, one of our clients throws something very different our way. And we LOVE every moment of it and all of the challenges it brings! When we met to plan their engagement session, Sonia definitely threw something different our way. Knowing that they wanted to use their engagement images for save the dates, she laid her idea out, via their wedding hash-tag: #turnerintoabaker
Crazily enough, Sonia’s last name is Turner, and Todd’s last name is Baker. Sonia had the idea to do part of their engagement session in a bakery for their save the dates, and wedding hash-tag. This is by far one of the most unique, and well thought out ideas that has been thrown our way.
The first part of Sonia and Todd’s engagement session took place in one of our favorite neighborhoods around the downtown KC Library. Crazily enough, our sweet couple also lives in this neighborhood. But, like so many people, hadn’t ever really stopped to really take in the neighborhood around them.
A few days later we met Sonia and Todd at their favorite bakery, Sasha’s Baking Company, in downtown Kansas City. We can’t even begin to tell you how excited we were for the rest of their engagement session! Todd got permission from the owner to shoot in their kitchen, and Sonia brought all the props they could possibly need. This was SO much fun for us, and something that is so different, but so completely our couple. We LOVE how Sonia and Todd’s engagement images, and are so excited they wanted to do something VERY different!
Engagement Session Locations: KC Library District, Sasha’s Baking Company
These two are getting married at the newly renovated Scarritt Building later this fall. We are really looking forward to creating wedding day images with them!
