Spring has officially sprung, and we are now into summer. And man – have the last few months absolutely flown by! Our favorite thing about spring and summer – it’s officially wedding season!! This last year was very unique for us since we didn’t have the “winter break” that we normally do. But we could not have a been more excited for Jessica and Brett’s romantic Leawood wedding!! For their wedding day, Jessica and Brett chose to keep things simple, classic, and romantic, as you’ll see below.
Jessica, her bridesmaids and her mom chose to get ready at The Parlor: A Beauty Bar in Leawood. The ladies spent the morning getting their hair and make-up done and sipping mimosas before heading to the chapel. Brett spent his morning relaxing at home, reflecting on the festivities yet to come, only finishing tying his bowtie once he arrived at the Wesley Chapel.
Brett and Jessica didn’t want to keep their guests waiting for them after their ceremony, so they chose to do a private first look. And boy, are we so glad they did! The sweet courtyard at the Wesley Chapel was the perfect spot for these two to take a few moments from their day to enjoy each other. These are always some of our favorite moments and images from a wedding day – quiet and private with our bride and groom before being surrounded by friends and family for the rest of the day.
Jessica and Brett’s wedding ceremony took place at The Wesley Chapel at the Church of the Resurrection. Jessica incorporated her classic, romantic style everywhere. We absolutely loved that Jessica’s mom played the piano as her daughter walked down the aisle to meet her groom. And did we mention Jessica’s sister sang during the ceremony?! So beautiful and touching!
Bridal Party Photos
After their ceremony, we made a quick stop with Jessica, Brett and their wedding party at the Museum at Prairiefire for some wedding party photos. The stained glass is so pretty, and really accented the pale pink bridesmaid dresses.
Once we finished up at Prairiefire we headed to St. Andrew’s Golf Club for Jessica and Brett’s reception. The room was full of loved ones as the newlyweds entered. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Brett’s best man (also his brother-in-law) gave his toast. After their first dance and cake cutting we managed to steal Jessica and Brett away from their family and friends for a few sunset photos on the golf course. This was truly “golden hour” at its finest. Everything just seemed to glow and radiate this beautiful, romantic light around Jessica and Brett, and we are so in love with how these images turned out.
Thank you both again so much for letting us be part of your special day. We can’t even begin to tell you how much we’ve loved getting to know and work with you and your families over the last year, and we absolutely cannot wait to see where life takes you!
