An Intimate Fall Wedding | Matt & Jennifer

When we initially met Matt and Jennifer, they told us they wanted a little bit of an unconventional wedding day. They were planning an intimate fall wedding ceremony for their immediate family, but also sent out reception-only invitations to a much larger group of family and friends. They knew from the start that they wanted to keep their ceremony very small and private. To make this happen they only invited the people that mattered to them the most. They wanted their additional friends and family to be there to celebrate with them afterwards, but didn’t want to say their vows in front of all 150 people.

To be completely honest, this was the first time that we had seen this, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Their wedding day came, and their ceremony at Grand River Chapel in Liberty was exactly what they wanted. Short, sweet, to the point, and very meaningful with all of their closest family and friends with them.

After their ceremony Matt and Jennifer’s we took a few more photos with just the two of them. Their “reception guests” that arrived in time for their wedding ceremony were completely surprised!

Little did their reception guests know that they had already married! But, they got to join in the celebration afterwards. When the bride and groom entered their “reception,” their friends went crazy! The best part? No one was offended or upset that they hadn’t been invited to the actual ceremony.

Their tented reception was a blast. Matt’s dad did the barbecue, and the couple danced the night away with all of their friends and family. Congratulations Matt and Jennifer!!
